Bana Yirrji Art Centre welcomed back art centre specialist and facilitator
Edwina Circuitt. Over three weeks, artists elevated their creative practice by
learning new painting techniques and developing their conceptual ideas.

Our staff also worked alongside Edwina, learning best practice studio
management, including mixing colour palettes, stretching linen, storing and
caring for materials, pricing artworks, photography and gallery installation.

Our gallery and studio staff also learned how to curate and hang artworks in
our gallery and organise an exhibition opening, and we enjoyed sharing the
artist’s new body of artwork with family, friends, and colleagues at the
opening event.

This recent workshop builds on a continuation of the development of our art and
training program, which is delivered regularly. This program has been
instrumental in fostering confidence and developing the capacity of our artists
and staff and has resulted in commercial galleries and public
institutions’ interest in our artists.

We are excited about next year’s exhibition program and will keep you posted
