Bana Yirriji Art Centre recently welcomed arts facilitator Edwina Circuitt back to Wujal Wujal to conduct an earth pigments workshop.  This exciting project involved collecting locally found ochres and charcoal and learning how to prepare them to make paint.

We created a fantastic range of colours and textures out of local ochres to use in our paintings.  It was great that the workshop also attracted some new talent to the Art Centre.

Over the three week workshop, we produced a significant body of artwork.  The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair will showcase our paintings in this year’s art fair exhibition.
